Record a voice entry.

A voice entry includes both your recording and the text made from it. Juniper turns your words into an editable journal entry, and you can listen to the recording later.

  1. Open Journal and tap Dictate to start a new entry. You can also open an entry for editing and tap Dictate there.
  2. Turn on AI sharing if asked. If you prefer to write, choose Type it instead.
  3. Speak, then tap Stop when you’re done. On iPhone, you can pause and resume, and recording continues if the screen locks.
  4. Review the text and make any changes. On the web, the entry saves automatically. On iPhone, tap Save entry, or Save changes for an existing entry.
  5. Use the player below the text to listen to your recording.

Playback controls

On the web, click or drag along the sound-wave display to skip to another point. On iPhone, tap the point you want. During playback, use the back button to go back 15 seconds or the speed button to change how fast it plays.

On the web, the player’s menu has Download the recording and Delete the recording. On iPhone, open the entry for editing to find Remove. Removing a recording keeps the entry’s text.

What Pro changes

Free includes 3 voice entries a month, up to 10 minutes each. The message below Dictate shows how many you have left. Pro has no monthly limit on the number of voice entries, and each can be up to 20 minutes.

Good to know

Recording stops automatically when you reach the time limit. You can start another recording to continue writing.

Only the first recording attached to an entry is kept for playback. Further recordings add text but are not saved as audio and do not count toward your monthly voice-entry allowance.

You can also use your keyboard’s microphone to enter text for free on every plan.
